Ramsgate

Ramsgate:
The historic seaside town of Ramsgate boasts Britain’s only Royal Harbour, (over 200 years old), where a forest of masts nestles between the curved walls of Ramsgates East and West Cliffs. The seafront is surrounded by bars and cosmopolitan street cafes and is home to the beautifully restored Royal Pavilion (now the largest Wetherspoons in Britain).
Ramsgate retains the shabbily undiscovered charm of a working maritime harbour, its sweeping sandy beaches and spectacular Victorian architecture make it well worth a visit. On the west cliff, Ramsgate has a conservation area of Regency and Victorian terraces, giving on to hidden alleys of cottages and avenues of clifftop arts and crafts villas. Add to that the world class beaches of Joss Bay and Kingsgate Bay , the sleepy charm of nearby Broadstairs and the BoHo chic of Margate and you could easily spend the whole weekend here on the Isle of Thanet.
